Concert Review! Walk Off the Earth

Last Friday at the Paradise Rock Club (right on Comm Ave near the Agganis Arena) Walk Off the Earth played with The Mowgli's and Julia Nunes. First off, Boston as a city is an awesome place to see a concert. The crowd is great and makes it enjoyable for everyone. Boston fans, of whatever genre, are very loyal to their bands and you can tell when bands come around. The Paradise is on the smaller side of venues, but it houses all sorts of acts AND every spot in the venue is super close to the stage.

Now on to the show, music started right at 7:30 and each act had great energy. The Mowgli's are a group of 8 from LA. Rather than a concert it was more like one big jam session, everything from acoustic to rock and having a great time on stage. Julia Nunes is a presence to be reckoned with. She is loud and sassy on with her guitar player. She ended her set with a combination of Top 40 songs, stringing together Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Carley Rae and a couple other popular songs.
Walk Off the Earth came on an played over an hour of super energetic songs, all while swapping instruments with each other.

I highly recommend any of these bands because of the fact the are all energetic and excited about their music. Regardless of what you listen too, bands and artists need this kind of excitement in all their shows, it makes their music even better.

The Paradise is also offering a ton of awesome shows, not only do I want you to listen to this band, but check out a TON of cheap shows going on there every week. Here are just a couple:

11/4-   Yelawolf Slumerican Tour (Presented by JAMN 94.5)

11/9-   Motion City Soundtrack

11/10- Redbull Play & Destroy (FREE night of music battles put on by your own playlists!)

12/6-   New Found Glory

12/26- Hoodie Allen

12/27- The Starting Line (this one's sold out, but it is their 10 year CD release anniversary and that's
           pretty cool)
