Making Your Halloween Soundtrack

Whether you're going out to one of the city's hotspots for Halloween or getting in your costume and heading to a friend's house for a night of tricks and treats you're going to need some music. From scary to poppy (and all the corny sound effects in between), songs about Halloween have been around since we were little kids (when we could do nothing in class all day AND get candy for it), and here's some popular Halloween songs to get you in the spirit during this week.

Pandora Radio, which is always free, has a pretty cool Halloween Station. AOL Music also actually has an awesome list of the Top 100 Halloween Songs, since we can't check them all out, if you need to add to this playlist definitely head over there if I missed your favorites. Here though, is a playlist to get you started. Download them all on iTunes, or click on the title to listen on Youtube and get ready for this weekend.

Prelude- Danny Elfman
Absolutely terrifying, Also known from the iconic Hitchcock Film 'Psycho',
Thriller- Michael Jackson

I Was a Teenage Werewolf- The Cramps
This 80's song embodies pretty much all the campy horror film themes, but theres dozens more
Monster Mash- Bobby "Boris" Picket
This one isn't the scariest by any means, but still something we hear every year
This is Halloween- Danny Elfman
From the Nightmare Before Christmas, this song is a classic for all of us 90's kids

Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)- Marilyn Manson
Witchy Woman- Eagles
Halloween (She Get So Mean)- Rob Zombie
Rob Zombie has a ton of scary hits, heres just one to get you started
Ghost Town- Shiny Toy Guns
This alternative/electronic group released this more modern Halloween song, but it still gets the job done
Bad Moon Rising- Creedence Clearwater Revival
A little more swing then scary, but fits the fall nights just perfectly

Time Warp- Richard O'Brien
Release your inner...whatever when you play this Rocky Horror staple

And you get the point. Nothing's scary than watching your friend's do Gangnam Style after a couple of drinks anyways.
