The Great Presidential iPod Debate

So we all (hopefully) voted yesterday but there was a whole other level we never looked at and that is the Presidential candidates choice in music. Now that this can't make or break your choice, lets take a look at what got these two through the election season, and what songs are worth adding to your own playlist.

Barack Obama

We've actually heard him sing at many events during the years and he event recently admitted knowing the Gangnam Style dance. He has a little bit of everything. Multiple interviews have cited everything from classics like Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan to rappers like Jay-Z and Eminem. Now, I'm sure you've at least heard of these artists, but lets update them a little bit.

Like Bob Dylan? Try Andrew Belle
Andrew Belle hails from Obama's local Chicago and combines today's pop music sound with the raw feel Dylan always had and is just trying to make his own mark of the music scene. Listen to 'The Daylight' here and show him support on Facebook if you like what you hear!

More of a Stones fan? How about The Kicks?
This Nashville band finds influences from all sorts of rock from the 60's and 70's and according to their Facebook page love the "freedom" that it comes with. With these the foursome produces their own music and are working to make authentic music for everyone to hear. Their song 'Hawk Eyes' is extremely catchy, try it here and you'll be addicted:

Mitt Romney

Musicians tend to lean away from right wing politics, but Mitt's choices go across the spectrum. Country heavyweights like Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith were all mentioned in addition to The Eagles, Roy Orbison and The Killers, oddly enough.

Like Romney's vintage tastes? Try Jukebox the Ghost
This trio from hails from Washington D.C. which makes them even more fitting. Their indie sound combines throwbacks to the past and the flair to keep them current. 'Somebody' from their album Safe Travels is the perfect combination.

So after the 24 hour coverage of this election, turn off the TV, plug in your headphones and download some of these talented artists to listen to instead.
