Happy day before Thanksgiving! Now like most of you I am running around today, doing a lot of driving with hundreds of other travelers, and of course a ton of cooking for the holiday tomorrow. Unlike Christmas, Thanksgiving music does not play overhead months before the holiday which gives us much more flexibility with what we want can play during dinner
In one of my first posts I mentioned Ed Sheeran, and I also think he is a great pick for a thanksgiving soundtrack. His combination of ballads and more uptempo songs make perfect background music. Currently he has the new video up for "Give Me Love" which is a fitting mellow song as you enjoy your dinner:
Another excellent choice is Explosions in the Sky. This all instrumental band has been around for a while and will definitely give you a break from the dozen of marching bands you've seen play at games and parades. However being instrumental does not make them the same as classical music, they combine electric and traditional instruments to make soothing but powerful sounds. Try "Snow and Lights" first and then download the entire album if you love it, none of the songs disappoint:
Of course there is always Pandora, the Radio or your iPod to put on during your Thanksgiving meal. What do you like to listen too? Let us know your recommendations for the perfect music to accompany your gathering! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
